On Thursday the 6th of October Wild Dingo Press sponsored a Literary Evening at the Malvern Town Hall to raise money for the Mazar Development Fund (MDF). The MDF is a charity organisation led by Najaf Mazari which raises funds for health and educational resources in Mazar-e-Sharif in northern Afghanistan.

The evening was a huge success, with almost 200 people attending to hear a fascinating panel discussion on everything from the tradition of oral storytelling and the role of storytellers in different cultures, to writing as an antidote to cynicism and despair in the world at large.

Dr Maria Tumarkin was our wonderful chair for the evening and our panel consisted of inspirational writers (and luckily for us, highly entertaining speakers!) Arnold Zable, Najaf Mazari, Robert Hillman and Ali Alizadeh.

The authors’ books were available for purchase on the night, with proceeds from ticket and book sales donated to the MDF.
